ColorSnip is a macOS menu bar application that allows users to pick colors from their screen. We are committed to protecting your privacy. 
This privacy policy explains what information our app collects, how it's used, and your rights regarding that information.

## Information Collection and Use

### Data We Collect

Color History (Local Storage Only)
- ColorSnip stores your most recent 5 picked colors locally on your device using macOS UserDefaults
- This includes: color values (RGB/HEX), timestamps, and color identifiers
- This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any servers

### Data We Do NOT Collect

ColorSnip does NOT:
- Collect any personally identifiable information
- Track your usage or behavior
- Send any data to external servers or third parties
- Use analytics or tracking services
- Access your files, contacts, or other personal data
- Store screenshots or screen content

## Permissions

### Screen Recording Permission

ColorSnip requires Screen Recording permission to:
- Capture the color of pixels at your cursor location
- Display real-time magnification of the area under your cursor
- This permission is used ONLY for color sampling and is not used to record, store, or transmit screen content

### Clipboard Access

ColorSnip writes color values to your system clipboard when you pick a color. 
This is a standard system operation and does not involve reading existing clipboard content.

## Data Storage

All data stored by ColorSnip:
- Remains on your local device
- Is stored in standard macOS UserDefaults
- Can be cleared at any time by clearing your color history within the app
- Is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app

## Data Sharing

ColorSnip does NOT:
- Share any data with third parties
- Transmit any information over the internet
- Include any advertising or analytics services
- Connect to external servers

## Your Rights

You have the right to:
- Revoke screen recording permission in System Settings
- Delete all app data by uninstalling the application

## Children's Privacy

ColorSnip does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

## Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
